Project Description
Located in Lee County, the Mohawk Veterans Memorial Reef is a retired World War II U.S.S Coast Guard Cutter that was scuttled 30 miles off the coast of Fort Myers to serve as an artificial reef and memoriam to the crew that served on her. The project was completed in July of 2012 and became a regional destination for fishermen and divers alike. The project created artificial reef and historical education opportunities both regionally and nationally.
