Dredging Projects

 Venice GIWW dredge project completed by United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE) for Cuts S-19, S-20, and S-21.

Jewfish Key/GIWW Dredge Emergency - All permits received, except Manatee County and City of Bradenton Beach.

Completed Projects Since 1998 - Gottfried Creek, Shakett Creek, Phillippi Creek, Cortez Channel, Crosley Channel, Warner's Bayou East and West, GIWW Cut M-5 (Jewfish Key), Bowlees Creek, Trailer Estates East, Palma Sola Channel, San Remo Canal, Cuts Edge Marina, Phillippi Cove, Turtle Beach.

 Survey Underway

Lower Tampa Bay – Constriction of the ICW channel in Pinellas County, near the Manatee County Line.  Permit acquired and federal funding via congressional "ad" request.  The USACOE reviewing federal administration of WCIND permits.

Longboat Pass/ICW Second Phase – Emergency dredge action required again as successfully completed in 2007.  Request made for additional funding to complete channel template restoration favorably received.

WCIND surveys and permit request via Noticed General Permit is underway for: Gulf and Bay Estates, Warner's Middle, Sea Grape Harbor, Trailer Estates East, Tropic Isles, Manatee Shores, and Trailer Estates West.

Grants

Regional Socioeconomic Artificial Reef Project, with six-county participants cost share to WCIND for management of project, is complete.  Distribution of the report underway.

Permits

Noticed General Permit received for Lee County projects.  Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) approval of dredge projects, Moody Canal and Plato Canal.

Plans

Venice IMP Model – Completed and presented to FDEP.

Longboat IMP Model – Completed and presented to FDEP.

Charlotte County Regional Waterway Management System – Bathymetry survey complete and project narrative report underway.
